Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
General Questions
What is reupholstery?
Reupholstery is the process of removing old fabric, padding, and springs from furniture and replacing them with new materials to restore or enhance its appearance and comfort.
Why should I reupholster instead of buying new furniture?
Reupholstering allows you to keep furniture with sentimental or high-quality structural value. It also gives you the freedom to customise fabrics, colours, and styles while being more eco-friendly than purchasing new furniture.
What types of furniture do you reupholster?
We specialise in reupholstering sofas, chairs, ottomans, dining chairs, headboards, benches, and more. If you have a specific piece in mind, contact us, and we’ll be happy to assist!
Do you offer in-home reupholstery services?
For minor repairs or cushion replacements, we may be able to work in-home. However, most reupholstery work is done at our workshop for the best results.
Service & Process
How does the reupholstery process work?
Our reupholstery process is simple:
Contact us with photos and details about your furniture to receive an initial estimated quote.
Book a virtual call to select a fabric from our wide range of suppliers - found here.
Receive the fabric swatches and samples to your home or business.
Receive a formal and finalised quote based on all labour, materials & fabric choice .
Schedule a collection date - we come to you with our own specialist collection team
We’ll strip the old upholstery, make necessary repairs, and install the new fabric.
Your newly reupholstered piece will be ready for delivery back to you!
How long does reupholstery take?
Turnaround time varies depending on the complexity of the job and fabric availability. On average, projects take 2-4 weeks, but we will provide a timeline estimate when you receive your quote.
Can you repair damaged frames or cushions?
Yes! We offer structural repairs, foam replacement, and spring restoration to extend the life of your furniture.
Can I provide my own fabric?
Yes, you can! However, we recommend consulting with us first to ensure the fabric is suitable for upholstery use - we do charge a small administration fee for this.
Pricing & Payment
How much does reupholstery cost?
Costs depend on fabric choice, furniture size, and labor. We provide free estimates—send us a photo and dimensions for a quote!
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a 1/3 deposit is required once you approve the quote. The remaining two payments are split into a payment for fabric and the final balance is due upon completion of the work.
What payment methods do you accept?
We have a ‘Pay in 3’ system, interest free that allows you to split the payment. We accept all credit/debit cards, and digital payments such as PayPal & ApplePay

Please remove any personal items, and let us know about any specific concerns regarding your piece. Otherwise our team of experts will sort it all for you on arrival.
Care & Maintenance
How do I care for my newly upholstered furniture?
Vacuum regularly to remove dust and debris.
Blot spills immediately with a clean cloth—avoid rubbing.
Follow the fabric manufacturer’s care instructions for cleaning solutions.
Check out our care guides in the advice centre for more information.
Will my new upholstery fade over time?
All fabrics are subject to natural fading over time, especially when exposed to direct sunlight. We recommend using curtains or blinds to minimise sun exposure. We also have fabrics that are more resistant to UV and have a stronger light fastness. Ask the team for more information on this when you have your virtual visit.
